Services: 1. Two shelters for battered women and their families (length of stay-2 months) 2. Transitional Living Programs (length of stay-10 months) 3. Safe Homes Program. Shelter also provides Daycare, advocacy, therapy, and a 24 hr. hot line.
Clients: Battered women and their families, no men/boys over age 12.
Size: Approximately 28 staff members and 10-15 volunteers. Each program houses 6 to 8 families.
Donations: Baby clothing, baby strollers and playpens, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, bed linens and furniture.
Volunteers: From 5-7 pm on weekdays, all day on weekends. l volunteer needed for crisis line 7 pm to 7 am.
Duties: Looking for help with fundraising as well as having volunteers who can give presentations on the services offered by Casa Myrna Vasquez and to talk about battering as an issue.
Requirements: Women (an interview process is required).
