Services: Abby's House is a multi service non-profit organization helping homeless and battered women and children. Incorporated in 1976, we honor the memory of Abby Kelley Foster, a 19th century abolitionist and feminist and lifelong Worcester, ma resident. From it's inception to today, Abby's provides programs through a broad, solid grassroots effort. Dedicated volunteers join a small paid staff to bring the words of our mission statement to life. Hundreds of supporters donate the resources necessary to accomplishing our goals. "The mission of Abby's House is to provide emergency and long term housing, as well as women centered advocacy and supportive services to homeless, battered and low income women, with or without children. In addition, we provide education to the community about the issues with which our guests and residents struggle. We fulfill our mission by empowering women to lead self directed lives filled with dignity and hope. By offering warm hospitality, we seek to be in relationships of caring and support. In naming the oppression that exists in women's lives, we strive to create change."
