Services: NEOP produces and distributes free nutrition resource materials in English Spanish and French. This program helps low income families learn the meal planning skills needed to foster good dietary habits at home. NEOP distributes recipe flyers in English Spanish and French to low-income families, These flyers show families with limited food budgets how to plan healthy culturally appropriate meals. The Food Pyramid noted on the flyers provides nutrition information that, if followed, can help children to succeed in school. The recipe flyers also feature tips on how to make healthy choices at food pantries. .
Clients: The Nutrition Education Outreach Project (NEOP) works with several different population groups including single and retired women, women with children, the homeless, the mental health community, and Spanish and French families.
Size: NEOP partners with five non-profit agencies to serve families in multiple languages. These agencies include Project Care and Concern, Grace & Hope Mission and Pilgrim Church of Boston; and Cambridge Economic Opportunity and Saint Paul’s Church, Cambridge. These partnerships help disperse recipe flyers to those in need. We also work with six other non-profit agencies to serve English speaking families.
