Services: Bread & Jams, Inc. provides the following free services for clients: clothing, email, local phone calls, showers, Sunday meal service, storage, vegetarian food and a personal voicemail service. We also provide clients with referrals for: dental services, educational services, employment, eye services, housing, legal services, and medical attention. We are affiliated with a technology center to educate our clients on software and technology that will enable them to obtain added skills for employment. Health care is also provided on Wednesday mornings. The clinic offers: check-ups, counciling, medical advise, and referals.
Clients: Mainly adult homeless men and women. However, we also have youth and economically disadvantaged people entering our shelter.
Size: We have never had to turn anybody away from our shelter.

Volunteers: You may volunteer as often as you wish. Our voluneer opportunities can fit your schedule. You may work in the shelter in any number of ways during the week (9-5); you may work on the Development Committee (fundraising, events, grant writing) which will allow you to work from home; or you may want take part in our Sunday Meal program.
Duties: Suggested Volunteer Support Areas: *Data Entry *Development Committee *Event coordination – planning fundraising events *Fundraising – help with finding ways *Grant writing *Self-Advocacy Center – work with the clients *Sunday meals – preparing and serving food for our year-round Sunday meal *Website – collecting information
Requirements: Our volunteer opportunities are appropriate for those aged 10 and up. Our Sunday Meal is perfect for young volunteers. However, to aid our clients in areas of counseling we would appreciate you having a background that would be appropriate for this. To engage in one of our committees you merely need to have the enthusiasm to want to make a difference in the lives of homeless and disadvanted people.
