The Volunteer committee meets four (4) times a year. The purpose of this committee is to help in the maintenance of the Shawmut Education Mission Statement by supporting the following programs.

The Volunteer Committee does not set policy. They serve to insure the mission statement through their volunteer efforts to help Shawmut Education students with the attainment of technical ability necessary to stabilize the student's vocational life
Our criteria for the committee members includes such attributes as computer literacy, job placement influence, education experience, African studies scholar and/or familiarity with the target population.
